June 21st 2006 Big Eddie arrive in town!

June 22, 2006

My fishing crew today was Big Eddie his dad little Ed and his most favorite sister in the whole wide world Susie. Now Susie and myself have been fishing for over two years now. I remember when she could just get the line in the water. Since then she has worked herself in to an outstanding fisherman.

Susie bowed up with a really nice fish.

To our surprise a nice pompano taken on a gold 7m mirrolure, wow!

Here is Big Eddie with a nice speck.

Here is dad with a bluefish.

Eddie and his favorite sister with Ladyfish and Bluefish.

Of course he could not let his dad be left alone so they are pictured with a double on specks.

Our stringer:

12 bluefish

10 specks

1 pompano

1 ladyfish

Until our next fishing adventure tight lines!

June 20th 2006 two adventures in one day

My morning fishing crew was Todd, David and Pops. Now David was practicing for the 21 question show. He had alot of questions he needed answered before this fishing adventure would end. He also has every fishing magazine published.

David started the morning off with a couple of nice specks on pinfish under a popping cork.

We started working a stretch of beach and found a school of tailing redfish. Todd made an outstanding cast and was rewarded with this slot redfish.

We got back in front of the school of redfish and hooked up two more reds. Todd had one close to the boat and the hook pulled. Pops fish had worn down and Capt Wes went to net fish and got the chugbug caught in the net and the redfish came off. Sorry about that Pops!

Todd found a nice speck on a topwater 7m mirrolure.

Todd hooked up a 5 foot shark on topwater only to break off after 30 seconds of a fight. Then Pops hooked up a nice 18 inch speck only to have another shark grab it at the boat. We fought the fish for 5 minutes and finnally the shark released the speck. Pops with a badly scared speck.

Our stringer:

We ended up with:

1 redfish

5 specks

10 short specks

2 big sharks still swimming free!

After dropping off my morning crew I quickly picked up my afternoon fishing crew of Stuart and Jeff. We left for the bay for some sight fishing for bonito.

We found a big school busting blood minnows.

Stuart is quickly hooked up!

Stuart fights the fish to the boat.

And here is his prize. A nice 4lb Bo!

We caught one more Bo and had a couple of spools with break offs and the fish bite ended.

We then moved into Big Lagoon and found some male specks happy to please our anglers. Jeff is fighting a speck which was fooled into striking a 7m mirrolure in the middle of the day.

Jeff with his speck.

We ended the day with a stringer of:

2 Bonito

6 specks

and alot of laughs!

Until our next adventures tight lines

June 19th 2006 Joesph’s flyfishing adventures

Joesph Sr. called to tell me he had a young fisherman who had started flyfishing and wanted to try his skills in the salt water. His name is Joesph Jr. and he ties his own flies.

Well I had Joesph check in with Maggie Gray at Gray’s Tackle to get some insight on flyfishing in our area as well as some of the flies he made need to have that he did not tie himself.

Oh boy did he talk Maggie’s ear off!

The next morning we met at the Big Lagoon Boat Launch and set off to bag a speck and redfish. Joesph started out with a fly he bought from Maggie. He had a few small hits and then decided to change to one of his flies.

Well it did not take long and he was bowed up with his first speck.

What a pose with his first speck! Addictive Fishing you better look out!

Here is Joesph’s mother Cathy with a nice speck of her own.

Of course we could not let dad go home skunked since he was the one who made this adventure possible.

Joesph ending a wonderful fishing adventure with another nice speck on fly. Joesph ended up catching 6 specks on fly!

Our total stringer was 15 specks.

Until our next fishing adventures tight lines!

June 17th 2006 Montjoy vacation

The day was windy. As you can see Wade and Wilson are ready to catch a fish if the wind does not blow them away.

Here is dad getting some instructions from Capt Wes.

Kelly puts the first fish in the boat. A nice speck.

On the next drift she catches this very BIG sailcat!

Dad finishes the day with a Ladyfish.

The wind kept us to only one small location to fish and the pictures above were our only catches.

June 16th 2006 Fishin’ Chix catch stud grouper and snapper

Here is Blenda who started the day with this huge red snapper.

Capt Myles wanted to drop down one more time before we ended the day. Sondra took advantage and brought this red snapper over the gunnel. 20lbs!

While all the high-fives were going on for Sondra’s snapper Blenda is all bowed up on a BIG fish of her own.

Now this is one huge Red Grouper!

What a great adventure for the Fishin’ Chix.

JUne 15th 2006

My fishing crew today is Joe. Joe is a charter bus driver who loves to fish.

Here is Joe fighting a BIG speck using a 7m mirrolure.

This speck tries hard to break free.

This speck weighed in at 4lbs!

Joe bowed up again.

Another nice speck for the fish fry.

That is a nice stringer of specks!

Total stringer:

June 14 2006 Grand dad Leo’s fishing crew

My fishing crew Leo, Colby Kelsi and Justin.

Now the fisherman here was Kelsi. She caught more fish then any other angler on the boat! Here is Kelsi fighting a big fish.

Now here is her catch. Two nice specks using a pinfish under a cork.

Justin bowed up on a nice trout using a topwater plug.

Justin with his boated fish.

We could not end the adventure without another nice speck from Kelsi!
