June 12th 2006 calm morning with explosive action

July 26, 2006

The morning was very calm. Steve, Tamara and myself all tossing topwater plugs looking for that first explosion. I see a BIG school of fishing crusing into the shallow flat from the deep water. Tamara pitches her skitter walk 20 feet from the pushing water. A couple of twitches and a huge bomb goes off. The water explodes and her drag is screeming. “Fish on! Fish on!” Twenty minutes later Tamara has battled her first fish of the day, a nice 20lb jack.

After Steve catches several smaller specks and talks about how great a fisherman he is, Tamara shows him what a real gator trout looks like close up.

We caught many fish releasing them all to fight another day. Tamara with the last fish of the day. Another nice gator trout!

The day started out calm but the action was explosive!
