August 15th 2006 my first fishing trip

August 16, 2006

The day started out with a terrible storm in the gulf. This water spout would have been a tornado 3 on land! The picture doe not do this water spout justice.

Here sit’s Leo a 6 year old fighting a BIG fish on his first fishing adventure!

After several minutes of battle this ladyfish was no match for Leo the tornado!

Granddad got into the action with this small speck.

I hear Leo yelling out again ” I have a fish!”. Keep in mind the only help I have given Leo is casting out his bait.

WOW! Now this is a Gator trout! This speck is almost as big as Leo.

After that battle Leo need a raisin break.

Granddad with a bigger speck. He will have a seat at the dinner table.

Finnally Mike breaks through with a very healthy 22 inch speck.

Well, there is Leo again with his pole all bent over.

WOW! Another BIG GATOR to end the day! “Hey dad how about a picture with me”.

What can I say. Leo’s first fishing adventure was awesome! He caught all the fish on his own and they were trout any angler would have been proud to have caught. I would have to say that Leo the fish slaying machine is HOOKED!

The day was great and the weather turned out to be beautiful. Great fellowshipping with great anglers.

Plenty of fish.

Until our next fishing adventure….tight lines!

August 14th 2006 fishing with my hunting partner

When you have a beautiful sunrise as this you know the fishing is going to be good.

Plenty of bait! My dad always said where you find the bait you find the fish.

Link was working the bait and recieved a nice explosion on the surface.

Link will be dinning forsure tonight!

Plenty of small male specks caught when Jerry tied into this nice fat female.

Linn fished hard and before the ned of our adventure Jerry handed her is fishin rod and she bagged her first fish of the day. Everybody is eating tonight!

The day was beautiful and the conversation was filled with laughter and at one time alittle debate. Of course Jerry won the debate he was my customer!

Jerry I will see you on the dove field!

Until our next fishing adventure….tight lines!

August 10th 2006 Kara repeats on 2nd fishing adventure!

As Kara watches the sun rise from the east she thinks back to last year…

…when she caught this BIG GATOR trout while fishing with her father Matt and granddad Oliver. Would she catch a BIG GATOR on this 2nd fishing adventure with Capt Wes.

The wind was strong from the NW and I had to use our sea anchor to slow our drift. We had caught a few small specks when Kara yelled out with excitement “fish on!”.

Kara kept her rod up with a slight bend to keep pressure on her fish. The fish never surfaced like a speck would. We knew she did not have a ladyfish but was it a speck, redfish or maybe a bluefish?

She faught the fish to the boat when Capt Wes got a great look and knew she had a real nice speck on. The net was placed in the water and Kara coached the fish into the net. Once again Kara had her BIG GATOR!

We continued to fish and everybody was catching small specks when Kara yells out again “fish on!”. We knew very quickly this was a poor man’s tarpoon as the ladyfish jump three times trying to break loose from Kara’s hook.

Minutes later Kara and Matt her dad stand together holding her prize!

Certainly a proud father!

We caught a few more small specks and ended another great fishing adventure on the water.

Until our next fishing adventure….tight lines!

August 9th 2006 boys will be boys

August 15, 2006

Kelley called me and said I have to entertain 4 boys are you up to it! Of course I said yes. We met at the dock early in the morning with Wilson and Wil ready to go and Wade and Jake wanting to sleep in.

We started trolling in the pass with a couple of speck rigs. Here are two good friends Wilson and Wil looking for their first catch of the day.

After a few passes along the bar our fishing crew hooked up with two nice spanish!

Wilson went solo for a nice spanish.

Wil sharing a moment with his little brother Jake while holding up a stud bluerunner!

Wilson was very quite as usual but never let the rod down for a second.

Wil was the gongho angler. He wanted to catch every fish in the water.

Jake was the green yogurt eater. At the end of the fishing adventure Jake was looking like a green martian!

Now Wade was the deckhand on the boat. When he was not catching a fish he was making sure everything on the boat was tied to the bow rope!

Kelley, the wonderful mom never caught a fish but I think had a great time watching the boys be boys.

Until our next fishing adventures….tight lines!

August 8th 2006 can we beat the rain

Dan, Weldon and Charlie ask me if I would take them on an afternoon fishing trip. I told them lets go but make sure you bring plenty of water to drink cause it is going to be HOT!

We get to our first fishing hole and before we can get our baits in the water a big ole manatee comes swimming by.

While we were watching the Manatee, Dan hooked up on his first speck. Small but a speck the same.

What does Weldon have on?

His first speck of the day.

We could not leave the water until Charlie caught a speck too!

The weather started becoming a problem and the heat was extreme so we decided to end the day after Charlie was photoed with his prize catch.

Until our next fishing adventure….tight lines!

August 8th 2006 the Russells shine!

We knew our fishing adventure was going to be a trip to remember when this spectacular sunrise popped over the trees.

Jamie and Tim fishing together again having a father and son bonding day.

Robert began the day with a huge explosion on his topwater plug.

As Robert faught the fish to the boat we could see it was a huge redfish!

Robert was very pleased with his first redfish as well as the first fish he had caught in 15 years. What a dry spell!

Jamie fighting one of several specks he caught this day.

This speck tried everything he could to release himself from certain doom!

Jamie with this nice speck caught on the red/white 7M mirrolure.

Tim takes the mirrolure from his dad and catches not one…

…but two nice specks!

The brothers hook up with a double on some really nice bluefish!

Tim is so excited he begins to do the “fishy dance”!

Tim is rewarded with a nice bluefish after he finishes his “fishy dance”

The day was wonderful and plenty of fish were caught!

Until our next fishing adventures….tight lines!

August 7th 2006 the sun rises on a big cat

As Corey waites for the sun to rise he is thinking about the biggest fish he ever caught. Would this be the day he catches his biggest fish ever.

Well, it would not take long and his question would be answered. Corey was almost snatched over board by this spirited catfish!

I do not know if this is his BIGGEST catch ever but it will have to rank in the top two!

Until our next fishing adventure…tight lines!

August 6th 2006 The Fishin’ Chix

August 11, 2006

The morning looked very gray and when the sun did come out we caught this beautiful rainbow!

Bella a future Fishin’ Chix shows off her first of many specks she caught this day.

Here is another Bella speck!

Here is Bella with a rare picture of Claudia her mother holding a speck.

Claudia fihshing the day before the bottom dropped out with another speck!

August 4th 2006

August 10, 2006

The weather was real exciting today. We had several cells working to the east of our fishing grounds. The lighting at times was very scary to the point we sought safe harbor at Sherman Cove. This did not stop Curt, Mike and Cindy from fishing.

Cindy was kind of forced into this fishing trip and made the men pay for it! As you can see from this huge bluefish.

Not long after Cindy had this nice gator trout!

Then another nice trout!

Then Mike like a blind squirrel eventually found a feeding speck.

Well, I could not leave without Curt catching a fish. He was so excited he had to call a friend and share the news!

We had a great day on the water and caught plenty of specks!

Until our next fishing adventure….tight lines!

August 3rd 2006

Ted, Jeremy and Capt Wes look upon another gift from our Lord above. A rising sun that lets us know we have been given another day to fish on his beautiful waters.

Ted and Jeremy getting in some father and son bonding while fishing.

Watch out Ted I believe Jeremy has a fish on!

Jeremy showing off one of his specks caught today.

Ted is battling some type of big fish. What could it be?

Wow! A pompano on topwater!

We caught several flounder in a top secret (sorry i can not show pictures) fishing hole.

The day was great and the fellowshipping was outstanding!

Until our next fishing adventures….tight lines!
